    The Eyo Festival
    This is a regional festival that is unique to the city of Lagos and one of its main objectives is to pay homage to the Oba of Lagos.
    This festival streams from ancient Yoruba history and many scholars have said that it is inspired by the modern day Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
    The thing peculiar to this festival is that the festival features a major parade with participants dressed in while flowing robes that cover their entire body. The masquerades are referred to as “Eyo” as well as the costumed dancers.

    The Durbar Festival
    The Durbar festival which is popular in Maiduguri, Kano, Katsina and Kano is the most ancient and prominent festival in the northern region of Nigeria.
    The ceremony is a major part of the Id el Kabir celebrations as well as the Id el Fitri which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, and it attracts visitors and tourists year after year.
    This festival is now performed and considered a ceremonial parade, although it was originally intended to mark the advent of a war between ancient kingdoms or regarded as a form of military parade to the emirs and their councils to showcase the fighters who defended the territories.
    It should be noted that the parades are very colorful and it serves the purpose of revealing the strength of the people and their readiness for war.
    Ofala festival
    This festival holds in Anambra state of Nigeria and it is an annual celebration in which the Obi of Onitcha and his traditional rulers emerge in their full cultural regalia, and royal staffs also come forward to display their bravery, affluence, power and many more.
    This celebration showcases the rich ethnicity of the Igbo people and it is an occasion that attracts people from around the country.
    Sango festival
    This festival which is dedicated to Sango, the most powerful deity and one of the ancient Alaafin of the old Oyo Kingdom in prehistoric times is usually celebrated in Oyo State.
    It features Sango’s worshipers eating and breathing fire from their mouths and nostrils and also invoking thunder to strike across the land.
    If you are interested in seeing fire coming out of the mouths and nostrils of Sango’s worshipers, try to go for this festival.
    Lagos/Abuja Carnival
    There are series of cultural performances that tell the story of the the local people and Lagos/Abuja Carnival is one of them.
    If you attend this carnival, you will be in for a great time because you would witness colorful display of local fashion embellished with the most imaginative costume.
    You would also see participants reveling in the spirit of the occasion and sharing in the memorable parties that attend the celebrations in the evenings.
