Another Jungle Justice In Abuja, Mob Sets Ablaze An Alleged Motorcycle Thief

In what has worryingly become part of our daily lives, a suspected motorcycle thief has been set ablaze by a mob in Dabi village, near Kwali in the Federal Capital Territory. This latest case of jungle justice comes in the wake of the brutal murder of two persons suspected to be kidnappers in Ojokoro, Lagos State, on Tuesday. Witnesses to the Abuja mayhem said residents in the community along the Abuja-Lokoja expressway were shocked to see an angry mob chasing the suspected thief from Gwagwalada to Dabi after he allegedly snatched a motorcycle.
Having been busted, the suspect abandoned the machine and took to his heels but couldn’t get away quickly enough as the mob caught up with him and started beating him. “Some of the people used dangerous objects to stab him all over the body, while others hurled big stones at him, until he became unconscious. They now brought a tyre and set him ablaze,” one of the witnesses said.The mob and other bystanders reportedly watched as the suspect was roasted, while some used their phones to take photographs.Samuel Adamu, the Kwali Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) confirmed the incident, but declined to say if any arrest has been made.
