The President left the country on May 7, after handing over power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who has functioned as Acting President in his absence. His prolonged medical vacation for an undisclosed ailment has led to nationwide protest sparked by #ResumeorResign protesters led by Charles Oputa of OurMumuDonDo Movement and Deji Adeyanju, a leader of Concerned Nigeria. The protest culminated in a night vigil in London that lasted till this morning.
DBBW could not independently confirm if President has departed London as his official jet remains parked at Stansted Airport in London, but our sources said President Buhari's plan to return to Nigeria this weekend led to the cancellation of his wife's trip to Saudi Arabia for hajj which had been planned for Friday.
