DBBW's EPL Preview: The Bad, The Disappointments And The Flops

The Premier League is back! Which club do we think will win the title in 2017-18? Who will finish in the coveted Champions League spots? Which the three clubs will go down? And who will finish as top scorer and who would be the surprise packages? Relying on nothing but common sense and history, we here at KOKO Nigeria have without bias given our honest views and what those answers would come May 2018.
    The Soon-To-Be Flops
    1. Alvaro Morata: The nearly 100 million pound signing has looked far from convincing in pre-season so far and it looks like he was a knee-jerk reaction by Chelsea after they lost out on Lukaku to Manchester United. No matter how well his performances improves, he would be considered a flop if he does not end up as one of the top three goal scorers with the kind of money paid on him.
    2. Jordan Pickford: The ex-Sunderland goalkeeper might be seen as the next David Seaman of England and with his performances for the Tyne & Wear team last season, it is easy to see why. But we remain far from convinced he is ready to step up to a challenge as huge as Everton. Once he makes a couple of errors, he lacks the maturity and mental strength to be able to bounce back. And it would be downhill from there.
    3. Gyfil Sigurddson: Just call this a gut feeling but we’ve just never been convinced with the quality of the Icelandic man. And with Everton reportedly paying 40 million pounds for him, we doubt if that transaction is value for money.
