DBBW's EPL Preview: Who Is The Champion-In-Waiting And Who Are Those For Campions League Spot?

The Premier League is back! Which club do we think will win the title in 2017-18? Who will finish in the coveted Champions League spots? Which the three clubs will go down? And who will finish as top scorer and who would be the surprise packages? Relying on nothing but common sense and history, we here at KOKO Nigeria have without bias given our honest views and what those answers would come May 2018. Who Would Be The Top 4
    1. Manchester City: After last season’s disappointing third place, City have spent more than £200m on players this summer and are ready to push beyond the £300m mark if they have to this summer. Two of the biggest problems of last year, in goal and at full-back, have been expensively solved and there is a real sense that this year Pep Guardiola has to get it right. He has all the ingredients he could want now, and if it does not work, then the fault is his own. But gut feeling says, Guardiola would be smiling at the end of the season.
    2. Manchester United: Mourinho has sought to correct deficiencies from last season by bringing in the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic as he looks to steer the club to their first league title since 2013. But they would fall just short. José Mourinho has spent lavishly again this summer to create a big, powerful side equipped for the title race – yet Manchester United must buy again. But with continuous links with Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic, then maybe the Old Trafford hierarchy is not ignorant about this.
    3. Chelsea: Reigning champions Chelsea are expected to put up a valiant fight to retain their title boosted by top quality signings in Bakayoko, Ruudiger and Morata. Antonio Conte has said he wants to avoid a Mourinho-style second season following Chelsea’s title triumph, something he should manage to achieve with a third place finishing at least to guarantee automatic Champions League qualification for the succeeding season.
    4. Liverpool/Tottenham Hotspur: Both clubs have not made significant improvements over the summer. Liverpool is fighting hard to bring quality in and keep the ones it already has while Spurs seem just content sitting on their fingers. Both already have enough quality in the squad though to pip the likes of Arsenal and Everton to a top four spot but it’s anybody’s guess who it will be.
