Somehow, Leonardo DiCaprio has never played the most famous historical figure to share his relatively rare name but that is about to change. Paramount has picked up the rights to Walter Isaacson’s Leonardo Da Vinci after a very heated bidding war, with Leonardo DiCapario attached to star as the man himself.DiCaprio’s desire to portray da Vinci on film is no coincidence. The actor’s mother famously claims to have chosen the artist as her son’s namesake when she felt an in-utero DiCaprio kick for the first time while examining a da Vinci piece in Italy back in 1974.
The movie will be released Oct. 17, 2017 and speculators are already rightly guessing the name of the movie would be simply, ‘Leonardo’.
