Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, the wife of Muhammadu Buhari, the President of Nigeria, has travelled to Mecca, Saudi Arabia on Monday, August 28, 2017, to take part in this year’s hajj pilgrimage. According to the First Lady’s Personal Assistant, Zaynab Ikaz- Kassim, she left Abuja on Monday to join the 2 million pilgrims in Mecca.
Earlier this month, Aisha returned from London where she went to visit her ailing husband who was on his second medical vacation at the time. The president arrived Nigeria on Saturday, August 19, after nearly four months in the United Kingdom. “I am grateful to Nigerians & well wishers all over the world for their continuous prayers,” Aisha said following her husband’s remarkable arrival.
