NSAC Approves Floyd Mayweather To Fight Conor McGregor In 8-ounce Gloves

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) has officially ruled following an appeal from both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, that the fighters will fight one another wearing 8-ounce – instead of 10-ounce – boxing gloves.
The two stars are set to meet on August 26 at the junior-middleweight weight limit of 154 pounds – under boxing rules – which meant that 10oz boxing gloves are mandatory, but the NASC relaxed their rules on a one-time only basis.McGregor, who usually fights in the UFC wearing much lighter 4-ounce gloves, was unsurprisingly quick to accept the offer, with the pair lodging a joint appeal to the NSAC. Mayweather vs. McGregor takes place a week from Saturday night (Aug. 26, 2017) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
