PDP Blasts Acting President Yemi Osinbajo…..Say He Is Just A ‘Figurehead’

The leading opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, has stated that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is not in charge of the country.According to the PDP, actions taken by the Acting President were clear indications that power was not handed over to him contrary to the claim by the Presidency that ailing President Muhammadu Buhari transferred power to him (Osinbajo) before leaving Nigeria for London on a medical trip more than 90 days ago.Dayo Adeyeye, who is the spokesperson of the PDP, said if Osinbajo was truly in charge, he would have assigned portfolios to the two ministers that were sworn in more than two weeks ago. Prof. Stephen Ocheni from Kogi state and Mr. Suleiman Hassan from Gombe state were sworn in after weeks of delay but have not been assigned portfolios yet.Meanwhile, Members of the House of Representatives on Sunday called on Osinbajo to assign portfolios to the two new ministers immediately saying the delay in assigning portfolios to them was abnormal. James Faleke, a member from Lagos said the ministers seemed to be idle. He said the delay in assigning portfolios to them defies explanations.
