
South African minister has apologized after being accused of beating up a woman who called him gay. The Deputy Education Minister Mduduzi Manana was spotted at a nightclub near Johannesburg when the woman made the ‘accusation’ and Mduduzi consequently reacted. He said he had be provoked and was sorry that he had not exercised restraint’.

The incident, which took place at 3am on Sunday morning is still undergoing police investigation. A tape recording with a conversation between the victim’s brother and Manana has been allegedly leaked to the press. In the tape, the person alleged to be the minister admits to slapping the victim when she called her gay. However, a reporter who claims to have witnessed the assault said it was it was far more extreme. According to the reporter, the victim and Manana proceeded to trample on her with his foot was on her head. The extent of the woman’s injuries are unknown.
