GTBank has reacted to the viral photo of UNN’s best graduating medical student receiving a N10,000 cash prize, with a GTBank cheque.
GTBank via its official twitter account distanced itself from the viral photo after a Twitter user shamed the financial institution for issuing such a ridiculous amount as a prize for academic excellence.
The Twitter user wrote: “Shame on u for giving the best medical student only 10k. That is what I use to recharge my phone.”
The bank then responded saying, “Please know that This donation was not made by GTBank, but by the University of Nigeria Medical Students Association, who made use of their cheque leaflet to create a dummy cheque. We congratulate the young woman on her remarkable achievement and wish her the best in all her endeavors. Regards”
