Alex Iwobi Sustains Injury And Ruled Out Of Nigeria Squad

Nigerian footballer Alex Iwobi has withdrawn from the Nigeria squad due to injury. Aaron Samuel has been called to replace the Arsenal forward.Iwobi only played 11 minutes in the Premier League this season and will miss September’s double-header with Cameroon due to a thigh problem having not made Arsenal’s 18 to face Liverpool on Sunday.
The 21-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Galatasaray, is the nephew of Nigeria star Jay-Jay Okocha. Iwobi has made 11 international appearances for the three-time African champions with his only goal coming against Zambia in Nigeria’s 2-1 win in a World Cup qualifier away in Ndola on matchday.
