In response to calls for the sack of the teacher by parents, members of the school alumni and concerned citizens, the Ministry of Education set up a panel which would however later declare that it could not get any witnesses willing to testify against Osifala. The school principal at the time, Ms Lami Amodu and some students also stood with the teacher and blaming the allegations on his detractors. However, there was a surprise turn of events on Wednesday when the education minister, Adamu Adamu, said the case had been reopened and that some of the girls who made reports of sexual harassment against Osifala were now willing to testify before a panel on camera. “Now, they have three students who are ready even to be interviewed on television. Adamu further said that he had set up a committee that will be going to the school to investigate afresh in the light of the new evidence that is available.
