The three topmost weavers of Aso-Oke in Nigeria are the newest cover stars for lifestyle magazine Vanguard Allure. Abimbola Ipaye of Bimmms24, Omobola Sanda of Mobalks Alasooke and Oluwatobi Ogundele of Ceomania Alasooke were photographed by Bamiyo Emina as the magazine sought to go a different route this issue under the creative supervision of Nelly Mesik.
The three beauty entrepreneurs sit to discuss the drama that goes on behind the scenes of creating aso-oke, the famous Yoruba traditional hand-woven cloth which has become a material of choice for many traditional parties and weddings across different cultures in the country. The iconic material that speaks royalty has undergone a few changes and innovations to meet the demand of the end users and the trio spoke at length about it.
