In a clash between the Nigeria police and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) at Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, there was an unfortunate loss of a life. Eyewitness reports say that the scuffle started when security operatives seized caps, flags and T-shirts of IPOB members, who were waiting for their leader.Reports also say that the Biafra supporters, who were angered by the action of the security men, tried to retaliate, causing the operatives to shoot at them. According to Vanguard, there was heavy presence of a combined team of Army, Navy and Police personnel, following reports that IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu was slated to visit Ekwulobia. Speaking to newsmen, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mrs. Nkeiru Nwode denied reports of the death. Nwode also said that the security operatives were on ground to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
